Finally, got some time to watch a movie. Apparently flicks are releasing left, right and center these days. Sparing time and deciding which movie to go for thus becomes a difficult task.
"Cheeni Kum" turned out to be a good experience. Everybody would know about the story by now so no point repeating it. What drew me most towards CK were its witty one-liners and dialouges. The benter between the kitchen staff was funny. The scenes were handled as such that the focus was on communication between two leads and one tends to forget the age difference. Whereas, the generation gap between father-daughter was immently visible, the same was cleverly hidden between the lead pair with some very smart dialouges.
Performance of Big B was fabulous. Tabu was gracious and natural. Paresh Rawal, generally a scene stealer, somehow seemed out of sync. May be it was because of a ill-defined role. The only let down was the climax, which some how became melodramatic, losing its natural flair earlier displayed in the movie.
Cinematography was beautiful. I never knew that Qutub Minar could actually look so serene and beautiful.
Those who have still not watched it, must give it a dekko. Its a good, intelligent rom-com, quite rare in Hindi Cinema.
